Fieldcrest Intermediate School serves 3rd-5th graders within Fieldcrest Community School District #6. There are 3 sections of each grade level with the average class size sitting at 20 students. We have 9 classroom teachers, 2 special education teachers, 5 teacher assistants and one reading specialist. We also share 5 traveling teachers for non-academic classes(PE, Art, Music etc.) with the rest of the school district.
Students at Fieldcrest Intermediate School receive 90 minutes of ELA instruction and 60 minutes of Math Instruction Daily. We also serve our students with a full hour of designated universal RtI time daily. Third through 5th graders receive 75 minutes of Science and Social Studies every week. FIS students receive 30 minutes of PE every day as well as 60 minutes a week of non-academic classes (Art, Music, Library and Computer). 5th grade students at FIS can take band and receive small group lessons at least once a week.
